Who is who

Columbus Fashion Academy offers dozens of hands-on, fashion-driven creative programs and events each year, targeted to curious minds of all ages.

Founded by award-winner social entrepreneur and sustainable fashion educator Priscila Teixeira, our story began in the Fall of 2017 with a single flagship program: Fashion Runway Production. What started as a small afterschool class quickly grew into a movement empowering people to self-discover and wear what they love.

In the Winter of 2024, Columbus Fashion Academy officially became a company—and in the Summer of 2025, we moved into our current 5,000 sq-ft fashion studio in the former Studio Hall (CCAD campus) at 122 N. Grant Ave. in Downtown Columbus. The very same building where our founder and CEO took classes back in 1999 (see pic).

We have started more than a fashion school—we’ve created a safe space and fashion center for artistic freedom, sustainability, and community. Our programs span from preschool to senior learners, blending fashion, upcycling, and self-expression. In collaboration with our nonprofit sister organization, The Fashion Community, we also host fashion movie nights, mend in public days amongst other community gatherings, and special events that celebrate arts, balance, connection and creativity for all.

Our in-house Upcycle Center (aka Fashion Hospital), as well as our vintage shop (aka Fashion Adoption Center) extend the life of textiles by curating and reselling pre-loved, handmade, and vintage garments and accessories—fueling both imagination and impact.

From afterschool programs to summer camps and Fashion Lab Days, we blend hands-on learning with values that resonate far beyond the classroom.

At Columbus Fashion Academy, we don’t just teach fashion; we teach confidence, creativity, and the art of being unapologetically you.

THE MAGIC OF OUR FASHION RUNWAY SHOWS

At the end of each season, our students take center stage in spectacular fashion shows held in iconic locations across Central Ohio. These events are more than just showcases—they are celebrations of creativity, confidence, and community. Families and friends gather to cheer on their young designers as they proudly present their unique creations, walking the runway with poise and pride.

The transformation we witness is nothing short of extraordinary. Shy kids become bold storytellers, expressing themselves through fashion in ways that light up the room. Parents beam with pride, and the audience is filled with smiles and awe, moved by the talent and joy radiating from each child. These runway shows don’t just display amazing sustainable fashion designs—they highlight the remarkable potential in every student, developing skills like communication, public speaking, leadership, flexibility, planning,  creative problem solving and self-expression in an environment where they feel safe, celebrated and supported.
