Fashion Space (CFA x TFC x TF)


Welcome to our downtown studio—home to Columbus Fashion Academy (CFA), TalkingFashion, and our nonprofit partner The Fashion Community (TFC). Everything happens here: hands-on making, runway magic, mending, sustainable retail ops and more—always with pre-loved materials and our promise to transform waste into wonder. You’ll see two types of in-studio offerings on this page: Fashion Lab Days and Collab Days. They look similar because they share the same space and spirit, but they enroll through different checkout pages—one for Columbus Fashion Academy (our social-enterprise programs and special events) and one for The Fashion Community (nonprofit fundraiser programs and events).

Photoshoot Room

Our Photoshoot Room is a true chameleon—by day, a pro-style studio with backdrops, lights, mirrors, and rolling racks of pre-loved looks; by night, it transforms into a party lounge or cozy movie night theater. An open floor mean the space adapts as quickly as our ideas do—perfect for dance-and-pose sessions, runway mini-rehearsals, creative direction practice, and friendship chats between takes. It’s inclusive, multi-age, and joyfully sustainable. Explore upcoming Special Events or book the room for birthdays, team bonding, or school friend gatherings—we’ll help you transform waste into wonder and capture memories you’ll treasure.

Creative Room

Our Creative Room is the heart of Columbus Fashion Academy—a bright, joy-filled studio packed with sewing machines, spacious craft tables, an embroidery & knitting station, fashion illustration corners, portfolio-building zones, and a fabric-painting area where we transform waste into wonder. Here, multi-age makers learn side-by-side, try new techniques, and practice artistic freedom—no style bullies allowed. Explore our instructors’ Special Events for pop-up classes and parties, or book the space for your corporate connection/team-building event, a school classmates creative meetup, or your own hands-on celebration. Come as you are and wear what you love—everything creative happens here.

Programs & Special Events Enrollment

Columbus Fashion Academy sewing

Designed for the fashion academy students (youth ages 3-18) and friends, these are academy-run classes and special events led by our multi-generational instructors—sewing, embroidering, knitting, upcycling, illustrating, portfolio building, fabric painting, styling, photographing and more.


Expect inclusive, small-group learning that encourages student agency, curiosity, creativity, and develops life and workforce skills. Enrollments for Afterschool, Fashion Lab Days, and Special Events go through our social enterprise checkout.

Columbus Fashion Academy x The Fashion Community Fundraiser Events

These look and feel like our studio parties and pop-up workshops—but they’re fundraisers produced with The Fashion Community’s Board, and 100% of proceeds support TFC’s mission.


TFC is our nonprofit of choice to partner with day in and day out. We support their goal to create and expand low-cost or no-fee creative programs citywide, providing space for all kids aged 5-18 to be able to create and be part of their future initiative, Columbus Kids Fashion Week (CKFW).
